Neroli Mediterraneo is the new olfactive journey by Perris Monte Carlo dedicated to Neroli, the precious essence that is obtained from the distillation of the orange blossom. This citrus-floral perfume is a tribute to the sun and to the land of Italy through its great citrus scents. The Nose Gian Luca Perris created a new fragrance to widen the ITALY COLLECTION.

Neroli Mediterraneo brings us to Calabria, where the favorable climate and the richness of the territory boast a variety of exceptional citrus trees. Approximately 35,000 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of citrus fruits, like orange, mandarin, citron and bergamot.
A neroli fragrance that immediately reveals the sumptuous citrus and flowery character of its essence, coming from the sunny coasts of Calabria and made even more sparkling thanks to a rich mix of citrus fruits: Sicilian Bitter Orange, Sicilian Mandarin and Bergamot from Calabria.
Its freshness reveals in the heart the most multifaceted nuances, from the sunny and flowery notes of the Orange Blossom Absolute and Petitgrain, to the sparkling accord composed of Ginger and Timur Pepper, up to the most velvety and mysterious notes of the Absolute of Geranium. The dry-down becomes soft and elegant thanks to the notes of Cedarwood, precious Iris and Musk.

Perfume story

By the end of the 17th century, Anna Maria Orsini, duchess of Braccianoand princess of Nerola, Italy, introduced the essence of bitter orange tree as a fashionable fragrance by using it to perfume her gloves and her bath. Since then, the term "neroli" has been used to describe this essence.
Neroli oil is an essential oil produced from the blossom of the bitter orange tree. The bigaradier orange tree is highly cultivated in the Mediterranean areas. The blossoms are gathered, usually by hand, in late April to early May. Neroli is extracted by steam distillation from the orange blossoms. Neroli oil is very precious: 1000 kg. of fresh blossoms give 1,5 kg. essential oil. The Neroli essence selected for a new fragrance Neroli Mediterraneo comes from Reggio Calabria, a city in the south of Italy, well renowned for its top quality citrus production. Its scent is fresh, slightly bitter, floral with aromatic facets.
